Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared written result of Combined Defence Service Examination (I) on 13 June 2012. A total of 10815 candidates have qualified written examination held on 12 February 2012 and are eligible for SSB interviews to be held by Services Selection Board of the Ministry of Defence.
The examination was held for admission to (i) 134th Course of Indian Military Academy, Dehradun (ii) Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and (iii) 193rd Air Force Academy, Hyderabad (Pre-Flying) Training Course, (iv) 97th SSC Course (for Men) and (v) 11th SSC Women (Non-Technical) Course commencing in January/ April 2013. The ratio of candidates shortlisted for the examination per vacancy is 1: 20.52.

UPSC will conduct interview of shortlisted candidates for recruitment of 100 Drug Inspector in Central Drugs Standards Control Organisation from 2 July 2012.
