The Delhi Police on Saturday claimed to have solved the murder of a retired Government officer in East Delhi's Mayur Vihar with the arrest of a 25-year-old woman, who alleged that she stabbed Vijaykumar PB to death to avenge her sexual exploitation for the past two years on pretext of providing her a Government job. The woman, an IAS aspirant, was arrested on Friday.
She was seen in a CCTV footage taking a television from the victim's flat. During the interrogation, the woman claimed Vijaykumar and two of his associates, who were about the same age as the deceased, sexually exploited her and blackmailed her into continuing physical relationship with them, said sources privy to the investigation.
The accused visited Vijaykumar at his Samachar Apartment flat on July 20 and stabbed him multiple times with a kitchen knife in "anger and frustration" over her continued exploitation. It was her first visit to the apartment complex, where the victim had moved in March from Lodhi Colony.
The arrested woman, a History Honours, lived in a PG accommodation in Mukherji Nagar and was preparing for civil services exams. She had come in contact with Vijaykumar in October 2014 through a woman who had introduced her to the deceased as 'Pradip' and told her that Vijaykumar would get her a Government job, police said.
The murder accused belongs to Basti district in UP and had come to Delhi in 2014. She got married in January this year to a Government employee.
"As per the woman, initially when she was getting sexually exploited, she told Kumarand his associates that she would complain to the police but could not do so as they told her that they had naked videos of her stored in an LED TV," said the official.
She visited Vijaykumar at his Samachar Apartment flat on July 20. They had a cup of tea together after which when Kumar approached her she stabbed him multiple times with a kitchen knife in "anger and frustration" over her continued exploitation.
"After killing VijayKumar, the woman took the LED TV which allegedly stores her naked videos. She later dumped the LED TV in a drain in South-West Delhi's Najafgarh," said the police officer.
It was her first visit to the apartment complex, where Kumar had moved in March this year from Lodhi Colony in South Delhi.
The woman has claimed that two companions, who are also senior Government officials, of Vijaykumar too exploited her, the sources said. "As per the woman, she was threatened by Kumar to defame her with a sexually explicit video clip he had shot with her," said the police official In two years, the victim allegedly met the accused seven times at various places, including at a government residence in Lodhi Colony, police said.
"Kumar had called the accused at his flat in Samachar Apartment on July 20. She was seen in a CCTV footage coming to the apartment at 10 am, and two hours later she was seen going out carrying an LED television she had picked up from Kumar's flat," the DCP said.
The officer, however, said that the claims of the accused that she was sexually exploited and blackmailed are under investigation.
Eight teams of East district police worked on the case. Hundreds of mobile numbers were analysed, the officer added. Further investigation is on to verify the woman's claims and identify other persons she has accused of exploiting her.
