Conference is the largest gathering of PCS representatives in the union's calendar and its powers are set out in Principle Rule 2 and Supplementary Rule 6. It is the principal policy making body of the union and every Branch is encouraged to be represented.
This year's annual delegate conference will be held in Brighton, beginning on the morning of Wednesday 18 May and closing at lunchtime on Friday 20 May. Start & finishing times will be confirmed with the publication of Standing Orders Committee Report No 1.
Group conferences will be held on Monday 16 May and Tuesday 17 May. Accessibilty
Women, black and disabled members are often under represented amongst delegates to conference. Branches are encouraged to make every effort to ensure that delegations include members from under represented groups.
Please let members know that we will do everything possible to meet any particular needs. The conference venue is equipped to meet most requirements. It is accessible to those with mobility impairments. Signers will be provided.
If members have any particular needs branch secretaries should attach a note to the delegate notification form setting out any particular requirements, alternatively members can contact Theresa Busby directly ([email protected]) by no later than Friday 1 April. The more notice we have the better able we shall be to seek to meet members' requirements. Cr�che facilities
Cr�che Facilities will be provided for any delegate who is unable to make suitable child care arrangements at home and would otherwise be prevented from attending conference.
A registration form will be sent to delegates following receipt of the branch's nomination and should be returned to the cr�che providers, Nipperbout, by no later than Friday 22 April.
Please note that children will only be accepted if they are registered in advance of conference, Nipperbout will confirm receipt of registration forms as they are received, please contact them on 01296 712 658 if you have not heard back within seven days of posting.
